A bag is one of the greatest investments in your wardrobe. True, they may seem pretty pricy at the time, but as long as you look after them, they will give you decades of joy (one of my staples is a 30 year old Gucci that still looks new(ish)).
Mulberry always have the most wonderful bags that are practical as well as fun. If you want to stay on trend this season go for an Alexa in the limited edition burgundy ‘conker’ shade, or if you are a little more eccentric try a print. Bayswaters may be prevalent in St Andrews, but don’t let this put you off buying one, they are a solid piece that goes with everything (as well as having space for your laptop).
If you’re looking to really treat yourself and invest in an heirloom worth handing down to your grandchildren, there is no better way to go than Chanel. The classic design has been around for decades and still hasn’t dated, if anything it has just become more desirable. If you are going to be using it regularly I would suggest buying calfskin over lambskin since it is far more durable and less likely to mark.
When looking for a new clutch try modern minimalist chic with an Alexander Wang design. They are clean cut and the hardware is to die for. The Marion also comes with a detachable strap for when you just want to sling it over your shoulder.
Jimmy Choo, who have taken the shoe industry by storm, have more recently branched out into handbags and these are just as covetable as their stilettos. I love the cross-body bags and they look great when paired with a fur scarf or shearling coat.
Bags such as these are one wardrobe investment worth making: they will transform an outfit and last forever.
