Barefoot children playing in the Tondo Dump in Manila. Inhabitants of the dump make a living by sifting through the refuse. Hundreds of thousands reside in the dump scavenging and recycling. Shantytowns have sprung up under bridges, beside high-rises, on landfills, and even in cemeteries amongst the tombstones and in cemetery vaults.
