Natasha Franks previews Music Is Love’s upcoming event, which will be held Thursday 1 October at Club 601.

Notorious for their open mic nights and live lounges, Music Is Love presents their first event in the newly built Club 601: This Thursday, Boddika will be playing his signature blend of techno and house music exclusively for Music Is Love, featuring local DJ SAUNIT and the Glaswegian Bert E.

Since the departure of Moodroom Collective, there has been a gap in St Andrews nightlife. Even for just one night, Boddika may be able to fill it. He melds British and American styles, utilising early electro beats and sample-based techno to create a fresh, contemporary sound. Following the rather lacklustre Sub 601, this event may be exactly what Club 601 needs to revitalise its edgier side.

To guarantee entry, tickets may be bought in advance for £8 online or outside the Union from 12-4 on Monday and Tuesday. If capacity allows for it, tickets may also be bought on the door for £10.
