Autumn has finally arrived…Claudia Hockey offers some tunes to match the season of pumpkins and auburn leaves.

October is here at last, and by now you should all know what that means – A seemingly endless stream of Instagram posts with quirky, heartfelt taglines such as ‘living for beautiful fall days’ and ‘covering yourself in blankets when it’s cold’. What Tumblr user just-autumn-things doesn’t seem to have, however, is an autumn playlist – and I’m here to fix that. Also if I’m entirely honest, dear reader, I’m not just doing this for you, I’m doing this because if I’m going to keep a pep in my step walking to and from DRA every day, 8tracks isn’t going to cut it.

No Rain –Blind Melon

I thought about starting off with Radical Face’s ‘Welcome Home’ as a chilled opening song, but then I remembered how often they used to play that Nikon advert and I couldn’t stomach it.

Make A Beast Of Myself –Twin Atlantic

In case any of you were under the impression that the Scottish accent wasn’t hot.

Pacifier –Catfish And The Bottlemen

I still can’t pronounce it correctly, but huge kudos to Llandudno for bringing us these four.

Give Up –Miles Kane

The Rascals could have been great (though maybe with a more original name).

Arabella –Arctic Monkeys

Alex Turner is above reasoning.

Wires –The Neighbourhood

The YT comments section summed it up quite nicely: ‘The Neighbourhood is what you listen to on a rainy; gloomy day.’

Small Things –Ben Howard

Ben Howard is a perfect example of what makes Totnes such a cool place.

Ghostbusters –Ray Parker Jr.

Relax –Frankie Goes To Hollywood

Try trudging sadly to and from DRA with this playing, I dare you.
