Natasha Franks previews Go-Funk Yourself, which will be held on Thursday 12 November at The Rule.

With The Rule as its venue, Go-Funk Yourself poses a welcome change of scenery from the usual St Andrean haunts. The Rule, home of cheap cocktails and an all-day breakfast, will soon be transformed into a proper nightclub – or rather, a disco.

Advertised as an 80’s themed evening, Go-Funk Yourself will feature DJs from Bristol and Newcastle. The dress code is “sex funk,” but if you lack any groovy clothing, you can help yourself to free merchandise on the door, Wigs, glasses, scarves, face paint, and more will be available.

Tickets are being sold through Fixr (who, along with Bumble, are sponsoring the event), in four releases: The £8 release has sold out, leaving £10, £12, and £15 tickets to be released before Thursday.

Tickets can be bought online here.
