On the Rocks, the largest student-run arts festival in Scotland, takes place at St Andrews annually. As stated, organised, creatively planned, and run entirely by students, On the Rocks thrives on the unique energy and talent to be found within the St Andrews student body.

The festival could not garner the prestige it continually has without the work of volunteers. A vital addition to the festival (and your CV, should you choose to help out…), volunteering can be a great way to get involved with the arts at St Andrews.

On the Rocks is looking for enthusiastic and committed students to help out in the running of this ten day festival. Availability, therefore, must be from 6th-15th April. Though no experience with art, volunteering, or On the Rocks is a prerequisite for application, a DBS check, similar experience with event management or fist aid training can be a lovely and needed bonus! The roles played by volunteers are incredibly diverse; should you volunteer, you might find yourself working at the box office, setting up at one of the various venues, or working in community outreach.

Every volunteer will receive an On the Rocks t-shirt and volunteer experience, which, should you decide to apply for committee or subcommittee positions next year, you might find plays heavily in your favour.

Please be sure to stop by the On the Rocks table at tomorrow’s Refreshers Fayre with questions about volunteering, the festival, or just to say hello!
